The Problem: Discs in your spine are like shock absorbers for your back. They are located between each of your vertebrae and help keep your back flexible and healthy. Over time or due to injury these discs can shrink or collapse allowing the jelly like nucleus of the disc to push on the disc's walls causing them to bulge outward. This is called a bulging disc. Even worse, the nucleus can rupture through the walls. This is called disc herniation, ripped disc or torn disc. When either of these happens, the discs wall or the nucleus itself can push onto or "pinch" a nearby nerve. The resulting pain can be debilitating. And if one of the nerves it pinches is your sciatica, you will feel the pain all the way down into your buttock and down your leg.
Drugs and Surgery: Until recently, the only answer for patients with these conditions has been to mask the pain with narcotic-based pain killers and epidurals. Problem is that once the pain is masked the patient goes about his or her daily life which can cause the disc to become even more damaged. Soon the pain gets worse and your body builds a tolerance to the pain drugs. Within months you are back in the doctor's office asking for stronger pain meds. The cycle continues until finally you are given epidurals which works at first, but eventually even their effectiveness fades. The next step is surgery where the bulging or herniated portion of your disc is cut off and removed. But surgery doesn't always work. In fact, back surgery has such a low success rate that there is actually a medical term for it called Failed Back Surgery Syndrome! Not good!
A Better Solution: Eight years ago the DDS 300 (and the prescription-required version--the DDS 500) was introduced to the US market. Since then DDS back braces have become one of the best-selling braces in the nation. That's because it works! Once you put it around your body situated just above your hips and just below your rib cage, you inflate it using the provided hand-air pump. As it inflates it expands from 4 inches in height to 7 inches seating onto the hip bones as its foundation then gently pushing upwards anchoring up under the rib cage. The result is a "stretching" of your lower back. This is called decompression or traction. As your spine decompresses, the intervertebral cavities/disc spaces open up taking the pressure off your discs allowing them to distract/move back into their natural places where they will actually begin to rehydrate as it reabsorbs its lost nucleus, similar to the way a sponge can soak up surrounding moisture. The result of this is that nearby nerves and other connective tissues the disc was pinching and irritating are now cleared and the irritations dissipate. In other words the pain goes away!
"THE RESULT IS THAT NEARBY NERVES THE DISC WAS PINCHING ARE CLEARED AND THE IRRITATION DISSAPATES.
IN OTHER WORDS, THE PAIN GOES AWAY!"
The DDS 300 is also great for treating other lower back conditions such as spondylosis, spondylolsthesis, spinal stenosis, sciatica, lumbago and facet syndrome.
Wearing: Nobody likes to wear a back brace. But believe it or not people actually seek out and ask for the DDS 300 and DDS 500 by name! Word has gotten out about its effectiveness. Not only does it work, it is comfortable as well. It is completely flexible which keeps your muscles moving and healthy (prevents muscle weakening from becoming over reliant on the brace) and it can be worn discreetly under clothing. Recommended wearing time is 2-6 hours per day, worn all at one time or broken up into smaller time segments. Wear it when it best suits you or when you need it most: Sitting, working, walking, sleeping...whenever!
The DDS 300 is machine washable and comes with a 12 month warranty.
"I have not had a sleepless night since about a week after I started wearing the DDS back brace." -Jim Gillespie, Kansas City, MO
"Wearing the DDS back brace gave me so much immediate relief I couldn't believe it. I was astonished that after wearing it only 2 hours I would get 8 hours of relief!" -Terri Gigilotti, Physical Therapist, Medford, MA
"I have been without pain from the day I put the DDS back brace on over three months ago. To say my life has improved since then would be an understatement. I invest one hour in the evening wearing it. I get out of bed in the morning like a normal person. I can even lie on my stomach while sleeping. There is no amount of money I wouldn’t have paid for this relief. If you suffer from lower back pain, I’d give DDS a try if I were you. Good Luck!" -Richard Theriault, APICS and CPIM certified eletrical engineer at ITT Exelis, Van Nuys, CA.
The DDS 300 treats the CAUSE of your pain. Other braces only treat the SYMPTOM of pain.
